Let’s talk about fitness goals for a minute.
It’s not uncommon to have an aesthetic goal in mind when you first get started.
The ones where we want to lose that last 10 lbs or get those 6-pack abs.
But what if we looked a little deeper past those surface level goals?
What if we looked at more how we want to FEEL, rather than what we want to see?
These types of goals are known as the deeper why.
These are the goals that will keep you motivated on the days when we are feeling frustrated with the scale, or the measurements aren’t moving the way you would like them to be.
When we start looking deeper, we can connect why it feels so important to achieve those surface level goals.
Maybe we want to lose the weight because we are feeling winded trying to keep up with our kids.
Is it because there are some underlaying health issues in your family and you want to make sure you’re not on the same path?
These are the sort of questions we need to ask ourselves when we get started. These are the WHYS that will keep pushing us when we are wanting to throw in the towel when things get hard.
Those hard days will come.
They will throw a wrench into your plan.
It is how you choose to react to them that matters.
It is how you decide to come out on the other side that will determine how you tackle the next obstacle that you face. Those tough moments are the ones that build you up.
It is when we are in the thick of things and things are getting uncomfortable and feel impossible and you just end up digging deeper into that why and use it to ground you that is when you will see that growth.
